About
Cindy is a 3rd year undergraduate student at UCLA studying Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. She has worked on isolating metagenomic DNA from various sourdough starters and transforming 20 wild isolates with color plasmids. Her current project focuses on quantifying genotype frequency differences in Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains to identify strains or genetic variants with enhanced fitness in maltose growth conditions. Outside the lab, she likes to go to photobooths, try different ice cream places, and watch sunsets!
